How to plan for the perfect retirement #6 Health Matters

Blog

Even when living a healthy lifestyle, no one can predict with certainty what the future holds.  Age-related illnesses such as dementia, heart disease and strokes commonly occur after middle age, with genetic predispositions increasing the likelihood of developing diseases in even the healthiest of elderly people.  No matter how fit you are right now, there’s no getting away from the fact that you’re going to become more susceptible to illness, accidents, sudden falls, and broken bones as they age.

This is an important consideration when deciding where and how to retire.  In later life, the importance of being able to access medical care quickly and easily, while not breaking the bank, will become a priority, so having healthcare facilities and trained professionals close at hand means that you’ll be able to enjoy retirement without worrying unduly about these unforeseen eventualities.
