3 ways to enrich your life
There are many ways to enrich your life – and these may differ from person to person. If you’re looking for ways to feel more fulfilled on a day-to-day basis, we’ve put together three suggestions to help you get started.
1. Phone a friend
If you’re feeling a little lonely, consider getting in touch with someone close to you to catch up. Social connection is important to our emotional and mental wellbeing, and it’s worth making an effort to connect with others. Beyond getting together with friends and family members, you could also consider joining an interest group to meet new people, whether that’s a book, wine or dinner club or a garden or photography group. If you’re an Evergreen resident, chat to your village manager about the clubs available in your community.
2. Start a gratitude journal
There are plenty of benefits that come with being thankful – according to Forbes.com, gratitude can improve physical and psychological health, help you to get better sleep, improve self-esteem, and more. So why not start a gratitude journal, where you write down a few things each day that you feel thankful for? It will not only help you focus on the positives in your life, but you may be surprised as to how much you have to add to the list.
3. Do something you love
We all have things in life that refresh and rejuvenate us, whether that’s spending time in nature, reading a good book, going to the movies, playing a musical instrument, going to the theatre or gardening. But very often, the busyness of life gets in the way of doing the things we love, and before we know it we start to feel a little drained. It’s important to make time for yourself to do these things and give yourself the space to unwind and recharge.
